CLASS TIME: April 8 and 15 in the IMU Redbud Tree Suite (Attendance
at both classes is required to attend travel dates)
TRAVEL DATES: April 18-20
LOCATION: Daniel Boone National Forest, Kentucky
DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to introduce you to the next
level of rock climbing skills. Areas of focus include anchors,
protection, and improving climbing technique. R100 Intermediate Rock
Climbing is a highly experiential course where you must engage in site
setting and maintenance, genuine reflection, and new skill
demonstration. You will be evaluated on these dimensions, as well as
your expedition behavior. PREVIOUS ROCK CLIMBING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
BOOKS: How to Rock Climb and Climbing Anchors by John Long
ASSIGNMENTS: Readings, short presentations, and a written exam
EVALUATION: 60% new skill acquisition, 30% written exam, 10% short
presentation
ADDITIONAL FEE: The additional fee for the class is $200.00 which
includes transportation, food, and group gear. You will sign a
bursar slip the first day of class to pay this fee.
