Class Times and Days: Apr 16, Wednesday, 9am-6pm
Description of Course Content: This course, supported by the
Environmental Resource Center at Bradford Woods, is designed to
examine place-based education. Place-based education focuses on the
importance of connecting students to their home environment and
natural world by taking the classroom into the schoolyard, the
community, and beyond as a means to provide context for learning in
all subject areas.
Required Books List: Assigned readings.
Summary of Assignments: OnCourse discussion forums; 2-3 page paper on
how a sense of place philosophy can effectively be implemented in an
area of interest.
