Second eight week class.
Class Times and Days:   Monday and Wednesday  3pm - 5:00pm


Description of Course Content:  We will explore
> environmental
issues and concepts using games, hands-on activities and Native
American stories.  The last week of the term we will provide a full
day of environmental activities for a local elementary school class.
Class will meet at Hilltop Garden and Nature Center.

Required Books List:  Keepers of the Earth and Keepers of the
Animals - two books with N.A. stories and environmental activities
also a course
packet- Environmental Education in the Outdoors - can be bought at
Collegiate Copy on 3rd St.
>
> Summary of Assignments:  Students will have five tests and/or
written
assignments during the term.  Groups of two (or three) students will
present an environmental activity, story or game to their peers.  The
final week of class 2 or 3  groups of students (seven or eight in
each group ) will provide a day long (8:30 - 2:30) session of
environmental activites for an elementary school class.
