This course explores the writings and career of Galileo Galilei,
from his early treatise on motion (De motu antiquiora) to his
masterpieces, the Dialogo and Discorsi.  We will focus on a range of
issues including, but not limited to, the science of motion,
astronomy, religious censorship, literary style, the roles of
experiment and mathematics
