P: L543 or equivalent. Syntactic analysis and recent developments of
principles and parameters/minimalist theory, with examination of data
from a variety of languages and language types. Taking up from L543,
reviews core modules of grammar from L543 and presents topics such as
Empty Categories, Barriers, Functional Categories, Relativized
Minimality, and Checking Theory. Introduces concepts of minimalist
theory. Training in problem solving, abstract and squib writing, paper
presentation.
