Class meets 5:45 - 8:25 pm, Wylie Hall 105. This section meets March
24, 31, April 7, 14 and 21. In this class we'll examine the impacts
of immigration policy on immigrant and native workers, looking at
several different industries. We'll compare United States' to other
industrial nations' immigration policies, with an emphasis on "asking
the right questions," the ones that are needed to understand the
impact of immigration policy on workers and on human rights, rather
than on finding the "correct" answers or approach. We will analyze
the current stance on immigration of US and other countries' unions
and trade union federations.
