An overview of Indiana government and politics as viewed from the
perspective of the annual session of the Indiana General Assembly.
Contention and cooperation between the Legislature and the Governor
will be explored as will the policy making process.
The concept of representation and responsiveness of state government
to the citizens of Indiana will be a focus of discussion as will be a
comparison of the Indiana governmental system with those of other
states.
Invited guest speakers will include Democratic and Republican
legislative leaders, the Governor or Lieutenant Governor, lobbyists,
the print and electronic media, state agency heads, The Chief Justice
of the Indiana Supreme Court, and local government officials from the
Association of Cities and Town and the Association of Indiana
Counties.
As the legislative session unfolds, the speakers will be invited to
share their perspective on the issues facing the state and how the
legislative is working to solve them.
