This course will examine Asian-American politics through the
theoretical lens of accommodation, conflict and cooperation.  Toward
that end, it will explore the following : (1) the impact of American
political institutions and legislative decisions on the paths and
processes of Asian-American politics; (2)the extent of cooperation
among Asian-American groups in forging viable political alliances;
and (3) the factors which facilitate conflict among Asian-American
ethnic groups and their White, Latino and African-American
counterparts. Final grades for the course will be based on two
quizzes, a comprehensive examination, in-class assignments, class
participation, and a group project.
