Description: This course is designed to provide an introduction to
normal language acquisition for majors in Speech and Hearing
Students should have completed one semester of introductory
linguistics prior to enrollment. Participation in this course should
lead to:

1.An understanding of various theoretical perspectives pertaining
to language development.
2.A familiarity with language acquisition facts.
3.Basic skills in language sample collection and analysis.
4.An awareness of the relevance of normal language acquisition to
speech-language and hearing disorders.
