This course will explore the social, economic, political, and
aesthetic aspects of tourism from an anthropological perspective. It
will focus on the sites of tourism (theme parks, heritage travel, eco
-tourism, cultural villages), as well as the players (tourists,
guides, cultural brokers), the objects (souvenirs), and the
performances that characterize the tourist experience.

This course will be conducted as a seminar. Requirements will be
appropriate for an 8-week course.
