Cognitive Science | Sr. Seminar in Cognitive & Information Sciences
Q400 | 1025 | L Smith

2:30 - 4:30, Tues, PY 230
Prerequisites: 4 courses from among Q240, Q250, Q270, Q301, Q320.
Intended for junior and senior cognitive science majors.

The seminar uses the question of the relation between language and
thought to foster an interdisciplinary discussion of issues in
cognitive science. We will read Gentner and Goldin-Meadow's recent
edited book Mind and Language as a starting point. Students will
bring their own knowledge (and help organize the class) by
contributing related readings from different perspectives. Either in
groups or as individuals, students will develop and present a
research project on language and thought.
