Open to undergraduates only.  Meets with LING L590.

The goal of this course is to introduce various linguistic
phenomena in Japanese from the descriptive and the theoretical as
well as the comparative points of view.  The topics to be dealt
with include phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics,
and language variation.  Requirements are homework assignments,
presentations, and a term paper.
