Y107 | 3702 | Lambright

This course serves as a general introduction to the study of
comparative politics. The course is designed to introduce students
to the major political concepts and phenomena that form the basis for
comparison in studies of politics across nations. We will explore
similarities and differences across countries in important political
institutions, such as legislatures, the executive, political parties,
and constitutions, as well as political behavior. In addition, we
will examine these institutions more closely in several countries
that serve as case studies. Course evaluation will be based on
quizzes, midterm and final exams, a paper, and class participation.
