The course is designed to give students an introduction to library
research tools in political science and related social sciences,
problems of bibliography research, and problems of utilizing library
resources. Specific areas covered are: periodicals, indexes, and
abstracts in the social sciences, press, translations, current
information, book reviews, dissertations, U.S. government
publications (Executive, Congress, including legislative tracing,
Judiciary), courses of the Law, foreign government publications,
sources of statistical data, data banks, international agencies,
elections, public opinion.
