P565 | 3871 | Gold, J

This course is designed to introduce students to the study of human
vision using psychophysical techniques. The course will cover both
theoretical and methodological aspects of visual psychophysics,
including signal detection theory, ideal observer analysis, threshold
measurement, computer simulations and stimulus / display
characterization. A particular emphasis will be placed upon the use
of psychophysics to characterize and model the mechanisms that
mediate human visual pattern perception.
