Technical Direction I: Scenic Shop Management

The purpose of this course is intended to help students prepare for
the duties of technical director or master carpenter in educational
or regional theatre production shop.  The course is divided between
instruction in production organizational methods, traditional shop
equipment and their operations, and scenic materials and their
properties.  This course will acquaint students with some of the
specialized equipment and skills not typically included in
stagecraft courses but needed at the advanced levels of production
construction.  In addition to lectures, there are hands-on
demonstrations and projects to expand the student's understanding
technical theatre production.
