Course format: Lecture: 12.20-1.10, MWF, JH 124. Students should
anticipate one hour of discussion section each week.

Requirements:  Above section for Biological and other science majors.
Preference will be given to freshmen and sophomores only.

Course description: Evolution, natural selection, speciation,
macroevolution, early history of life, organismal function emphasizing
diversity: morphology, physiology, behavior, ecology.  What is science?

Weekly assignments: Read one chapter of text.

Exams/papers: Three midterm exams and a final exam.
