G 345 Money, Banking, and Capital Markets (3 cr.) P: ECON-E 201 and E 202. An
analysis of the interrelated financial systems of central banks, private banks, and other
sources and users of financial capital. Theoretical and empirical policy and institutional
issues are analyzed using economics and finance methodologies. Topics include the
theory of money supply and demand, monetary policy and central banks, interest rate
determination, inflation, financial intermediaries, and international financial markets.
