The course will study the generic concept of the Renaissance in
Europe from Dantte and Petrarch to Donne, Montaigne and Cervantes.
Social, political and historical aspects of the period will be
considered. The course will concentrate on prose narrative forms,
short stories, treatises, essays, letters, and the novel. There will
be three assignments.
