This course will study the theories and the works of the Post
Impressionists who turned their backs on Impressionism, accusing
them, in the words of Gauguin, of "neglecting the mysterious centers
of thought". They sought  new ways --mystical, religious, symbolic ,
and devised quasi-mathematical theories of color, physiognamy and
expression with which to express the new art.

	There will be a mid-term and a final exam.
