In this course we will investigate the relations between new
developments in biology and medicine. We will consider the
following questions: What is the relation between the biological
sciences, e.g., molecular genetics, and the practice and theory of
medicine? What is the role of Public Heath in the increased well
being and longevity experienced by 20th century westerners? How has
medicine changed as a result of biological advances?
