topic.  Emphasis is on new developments and research in informatics.
Can be repeated twice for credit when topics vary, subject to
approval of the dean.

Topic : Data Mining
P: College level algebra and probability, and elementary skills in
computer programming (e.g. C/C++, Java, Matlab, Pearl)

Data Mining is a practical discipline that aims to identify
interesting new relationships and patterns hidden in numerous
databases.  (A more detailed course description is available in the
