This course for juniors and seniors will provide a fundamental
understanding of how information and communication technology (ICT)
has a functional role to play in development programs. Any
development planner, anyone who aspires to understand the process of
globalization in the ICT era, should have a clear idea of how
information is communicated, how information technology is used and
how development is viewed in this new scenario. The course consists
of three major segments- information, communication, and
development. After completion of this course, students will have an
operational definition of development, understand how ICT
contributes to development, and identify the link between ICT and
globalization. Course requirement include submission of three
reflective papers during the semester and an end of semester final
exam.
