L216 | 7370 | Jackson & Neher

This course focuses on the intersection of race, gender, and
communication in the world of business. We will explore the
differences that racial and gender identities make in the way people
perceive the world around them, how they do business, and especially
in the way that they communicate with one another. The class will
study both the process of interpersonal communication and the
dynamics of discrimination, the sociological influences, and the
change in corporations. In addition to promoting your understanding
of issues of race and gender in business, the course is intended to
develop your analytical and communication skills. You will analyze a
variety of evidence and make oral presentations based on your
analyses.
