Linguistics | Language Typologies
L670 | 25691 | Robert Botne

The course will have two general areas of focus: first, the
historical background, basic assumptions, and methodological issues
of typological classification; second, recent issues and hypotheses
concerning the range of variation in natural human language. Emphasis
throughout will be on the attempt to explain the correlations found
in language typology. Students will be expected to make
presentations, critique articles from the literature, and develop a
research project.
