Philosophy | Introduction to Philosophy
P100 | 9565 | Kimble
This course is an introduction to some of the key themes and
problems in philosophy. We will be examining questions such as: How
can we know? What kind of things are you and I? What is the relation
between the mind and the body? Does God exist, and are there any
good arguments either for or against His existence? In this course
we will consider these and related questions by reading some central
historical and contemporary texts, with a view to developing an
appreciation for the nature of philosophical questions and the
methods philosophers use to tackle them.
Course requirements will include weekly readings, a series of short
quizzes/assignments, three 50 minute tests, and a short paper.
