Psychology | Evidence-Based Psychotherapy
P457 | 24576 | Hetrick, W

This course will cover a variety of topics related to the
development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based
psychological interventions. We will address question concerning
the limitations of clinical judgement, the seduction of
pseudoscience, Freudian fallacies, criteria for empirically
supported treatments, and the implementation of evidence-based
treatments.

This will be a demanding course. Students will (1) read original
papers from psychological journals and books; (2) make presentations
to the class; (3) write a term paper; and (4) take exams. This is
not a course about how to do therapy. It is more about developing
critical thinking skills.

P324 is a prerequisite and it is preferred that students will have
completed P211.
