This course will explore new directions in the study of art. Topics to
be covered include: the politics of collecting and representation in
historical perspective, the global art market, art worlds – centers
and peripheries, and, lastly, art and ethnic and/or national identity.
This course will be conducted as a seminar and class presentations as
well as one fieldwork and one research paper will be required.
