The main objective of this course is to expose you to the classical
and contemporary theories of crime causation.  We first review
different approaches to defining and measuring crime.  We then
survey several theories that attempt to explain crime, while also
presenting the historical, political, and empirical trends related
to theory development.

Class Meeting:  Two 50-minute lectures (MW, 12:20-1:10P)and one 50-
minute discussion section each week
