CLAS-G 250 Greek Poetry: Homer (3 CR)
This course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:15-12:30 in BH 011
Prerequisite: G200 or equivalent. This intermediate ancient Greek
class introduces students to Homeric Greek through selected readings
from the Iliad or the Odyssey. We will also read either the entire
Iliad (or the Odyssey) in English translation and discuss the
techniques and themes of epic poetry. The course grade will be based
on quizzes, two exams, and a final.
