L210 | 23160 | Yara Cluver
This course will explore the relationship between art, community, and service.
You will gain an historical perspective on artists who have considered
community in their art making and research local examples of this. You will
also learn the necessary production techniques to be used in a community-
based service project. In the second half of the semester, you will take this
practical training, along with the knowledge from the readings and research,
and work with a group of children at Templeton Elementary School. You will
be facilitating book projects that focus on community that these children will
make in order to help them build their visual and literacy skills.
