Q560 TuTh, 9:30-10:45am, RM: PY 115

Q560 provides a survey of empirical methods used in cognitive
science, with an emphasis on experimental methods. The initial part
of the course will employ lectures geared at the teaching of basic
experimental methods, including topics such as manipulation of
independent variables, the use of between-subject versus within-
subject designs, elimination of confounding variables, and
approaches to statistical inference. The main body of the course
will involve student reports of diverse examples from the literature
in which the experimental methods are applied.
