U501  Special Topics in Studio Art-Contemporary Art in Spain

Open to graduate students.

Selected topics in studio art not ordinarily covered in other
departmental courses.  May be repeated once with a different topic.

Seminar will explore contemporary art in Spain as an emerging force
in the European art context.  Students will analyze how artists are
influenced by geo-political, historical and cultural conditions.
Both formal and conceptual parallels will be drawn between Spanish
and American artists.
