Television and Gender: Forms, Meanings, and Technologies analyzes
television and gender representation as well as how new technology
such as Internet fan-sites and weblogs alters the meaning of the
television text. Rather than concern ourselves with the question
of "new" or "better" gender representations, the focus will be on
what people are "doing" with the representations already available.
Students will produce both an oral group project on a television
website as well as individual papers on a television text of their
own choosing.
