This course is an interdisciplinary examination of what constitutes
(and has historically constituted) masculinity as particularly
demonstrated in fiction and film from the 1950’s forward. All
writing assignments conform to COAS regulations for writing-
intensive courses and are designed to illuminate the contested
underpinnings of masculinity.
