This course will examine compelling scholarship on Latina and Latino
historical experiences in the United States since the 19th century.
Specifically, we will read and discuss articles and monographs that
focus on processes of migration, shifting boundaries of citizenship,
and competing notions of raceómost notably, among Mexican, Puerto
Rican, Cuban and Dominican communities in the U.S. orbit.
