Croatian (London: Teach Yourself, 2003), abbreviated C below, and
David Norris, Serbian (London: Teach Yourself, 2003), abbreviated S
below. It is not necessary to purchase the tapes or CD-ROMs that
accompany these books. Supplementary materials will be provided for
all lessons.

Grading policy: course attendance and participation 50% (absences in
excess of four will result in the reduction of the final grade by one
letter per additional absence); quizzes 40% (if all quizzes are taken,
the lowest quiz grade is dropped from the average); final 10%. My
