Course format: Lecture: 12.20-1.10, MWF, MO 007. Students should
anticipate one hour of discussion section each week.

Requirements:  Above section for Biological and other science
majors. Preference will be given to freshmen and sophomores only.
Please note: section 7633 is open to all students.

Course description: Evolution, natural selection, speciation,
macroevolution, early history of life, organismal function
emphasizing diversity: morphology, physiology, behavior, ecology.
What is science?

Required text: Campbell, et al. “Biology”, seventh edition.

Weekly assignments: Read one chapter of text.

Exams/papers: Two midterm exams and a final exam.
