Course description: This course focuses on the ecological and
evolutionary processes that have molded our natural environment. The
course integrates several levels of organization including cell
physiology, mechanisms of evolution, natural history, plant-animal-
microbe interactions, and ecosystem structure and function, with
emphasis on forest ecosystems.
Required text: Smith and Smith “Elements of Ecology”.
Weekly assignments: Study questions for each exam.
Exams/papers: Three one-hour exams plus final.
