Course description:  Introduction to viruses.  Outline of structure,
molecular biology, mechanisms of replication, transmission and
pathogenesis.  In depth discussion of specific human viruses
including HIV, influenza, poliovirus, and SARS associated
coronavirus. Discussion of public health and societal consequences
of viral epidemics.
