C102:  Roman Culture.  Section 8732)  2:30-3:20 MWF.  T. Long

This course offers an introduction to the social and cultural
history of ancient Rome.  Particular topics are:  the influence of
the Etruscans, the Roman political system, slavery, religion,
political mythology, literature, sculpture, painting, architecture,
urban planning, philosophy, business and commerce, technology and
many other matters.

The approach is straight lecture with numerous slides.  A book of
lecture notes is made available as a textbook to enable the student
to follow the lecture presentations.  There are three multiple-
choice exams.
