This course introduces students to the process by which technical
medical terms are formed. It begins with an introduction to the
three-part process of prefix-root-suffix by which technical words
are created. It then proceeds by offering the student an extensive
collection of word roots from Greek and Latin which play important
roles in the formation of the professional vocabulary of doctors and
nurses. Students who take this course and then go into medicine or
nursing use what they learn here for the rest of their lives.
