Political Science | International Relations: Approaches & Issues
Y569 | 25778 | Rathbun
This course serves as the core class in the field of international
relations. We will begin by discussing a framework by which we can
categorize theoretical approaches. The next weeks will be devoted
to the five main approaches to explaining world politics – realism,
liberalism, rationalism, cognitivism and constructivism. This will
give us the necessary foundation for an investigation of the major
topics of international relations research, which will make up the
remainder of the class.
