This course is an introduction to the study of sociology through a
broad array of topics, but with a primary emphasis on race, class,
gender and inequality. The course introduces the basic tools and
theories of sociology, investigates sociological explanations of
contemporary issues, and explores the importance of sociology
regardless of your major. You will be expected to be actively engaged
in class discussion and expand your critical thinking skills.
