Description of course: From concept to sale this course examines the
games and business practices of an industry that has in thirty short
years come to challenge and shape other media and culture around the

Class format: Class time will be divided between lecture and
workshop where students will create game ideas, form companies, and
attempt to sell their products to one another.

Grading procedure: Grading is rigorous, based on exams, game
projects and class participation.

Required texts: Game Design by Bob Bates.

This course counts toward Social and Historical Studies distribution
requirements in the College of Arts and Sciences. It may, or may
