An upper-level course on Homeric poetry. In addition to translating
between 60-70 lines per class in Greek, students examine the
fundamental components of Homeric verse (formula and type-scene),
questions about the textualization of the poems, and contemporary
interpretative approaches to oral traditional epic. (A&H)
