This graduate level research methods course introduces reference
works in Japanese and English necessary in order to conduct advanced
research in Japanese studies. We will examine various bibliographic
resources as well as online materials; we will also investigate
research methods and tools that differ from field to field. In
addition, students will work on necessary academic skills, such as
writing reviews and compiling annotated bibliographies. Students
will be evaluated on class attendance, discussion participation,
homework, presentations and a final project.
