Close study of seven Jacobean plays: comedies: Twelfth Night and Troilus and Cressida and Measure for Measure; tragedies: Othello, Macbeth, King Lear, and Antony and Cleopatra. Class is a mix of lecture and discussion. A mid-term, a final, and two essays constitute two thirds of the final grade, quizzes the remaining third.
