Fine Arts | So much for Art. What of Thought? (Problems in Early Netherlandish Painting)
A637 | 25233 | Rothstein

This course addresses matters of visual skill in the early
modern Low Countries. Of particular importance will be questions of
how painters and printmakers (among others) conceived of and
cultivated intelligent observation. Needless to say, our task
requires that we extend our view beyond fifteenth-century objects
and texts, despite the main title of the class.
