S411 Industrial Hygiene Sampling and Analysis
(3 cr.) P: HPER S410 and CHEM C106. Advanced, in-depth study of the
approaches to workplace sampling. Emphasis is on sampling methods,
passive sampling, sampling devices, breathing zone, and area
sampling strategy. Course will include lab sessions and field
experience.

The laboratory experiments are intended to simulate typical
industrial hygiene measurement situations and to provide a basis for
selection of sampling techniques.  Instruction on how to use the
instruments necessary to measure environmental  exposures to organic
solvents, heavy metals, noise, nonionizing radiation, airborne
contaminants will be given.
